How to Find a Therapist When You Can’t Afford It

Hello, friends. I hope you are doing well and that you are tending to your mental health during these uncertain times. As we know, our mental health is of utmost importance. I know for myself, when I don’t feel well emotionally, psychologically or socially, I struggle. However, when my mental health is strong, I feel as if I can conquer anything. Does this happen to you too?

One such way we can care for our mental health is to see a therapist. However, it’s not always that easy. What if you’re uninsured? Or what if you’ve been laid off? No matter your circumstances, don’t let affordability stop you from seeking the care you need.

I have good news! While helping a friend, I came across a resource I wanted to share with you and that I’ll be adding to my list of resources here on Stacy’s Flutterings. There are mental health counselors across our great nation who are meeting the need. And you can access their services at Open Path Psychotherapy Collective, “a non-profit nationwide network of mental health professionals dedicated to providing in-office and online mental health care-at a steeply reduced rate-to individuals, couples, children, and families in need.”

Important to note, Open Path Psychotherapy Collective does disclose on their website that there is a one time, lifetime membership fee of $59 and that after you register, a session will cost between $30-60 (between $30 and $80 for couples & family sessions).

What do I say to that? I say your worth it! And believe me when I say, this is not a paid advertisement. I’m sharing their service and provider network with you because you’re too important not to. So take the next step and take care of YOU.

With love,
