I’ve heard a lot lately about how sometimes the new people that come into our lives may not understand the challenges someone with a mental illness faces on a daily basis in finding mental health balance. There is an “Open Letter to Families…” on the NAMI Illinois website. It can be found by going to page 15 in the NAMI Illinois Hospital Guide: What Families Need to Know About Mental Health Treatment. I wish I would have found it earlier. I thought I would share it just in case it might be of help to someone else. I showed it to Kim, and told her that if she desired we could print the letter.
